Individual AT and Releasing Sessions

One-on-one sessions are an excellent way to experience both the Alexander Technique and Releasing, and offer more specific guidance related to individual needs, physical, emotional, and spiritual. Scheduling is flexible and sessions take place in person and online at any of our locations. Home visits are also available for the residents of Glen Ridge, Storrs and Ashford CT, USA residents. May 3rd Saturday, 12:30-1:30pm EST AT for Hypermobility (HSD) and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)
taught in-person at RIAT (NYC) with the option to attend on Zoom Registration fee: $25 This specialized Alexander Technique class focuses on the unique challenges faced by individuals with hypermobility syndrome/Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and will include best practices for working with this growing population. Designed for Alexander Technique practitioners, trainees, and others interested in learning supportive strategies, this class explores how to safely apply and instruct the principles of AT to improve stability, coordination, and body awareness while reducing strain and pain. May 5th Monday, 6:30-8pm Introduction to the Alexander Technique: A Support Workshop for Hypermobility, TOS, Chronic Conditions, and Persons with Disabilities Join us (online and in-person in NYC) for this 60-minute workshop exploring how the Alexander Technique can offer gentle, practical support for those living with hypermobility, thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), chronic conditions, and disabilities. This interactive session will introduce key principles of the Alexander Technique, helping participants discover ways to reduce pain, tension, and fatigue while improving ease of movement, balance, and coordination. With a focus on mindful awareness and subtle postural adjustments, we will explore how small changes can lead to greater comfort and efficiency in daily activities. Whether you're navigating persistent discomfort, mobility challenges, or the effects of a chronic condition, this workshop provides a safe and supportive space to explore movement with less strain and more freedom. May 10th, Saturday 2-3:30 pm EST/8-9:30 pm CET/11-12:30 pm PT/ FUNDRAISER FOR ATLP WORKSHOP Understanding Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) and AT For AT Professionals, Trainees, Healthcare Providers, and Individuals/Friends with EDS/HSD Cost: Suggested contribution: $5-$40 (sliding scale) Register HERE (advance registration is really really helpful) This 90-minute workshop introduces Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD), focusing on common challenges like persistent pain, joint instability and the co-occurring conditions. Designed for Alexander Technique (AT) professionals, trainees, healthcare providers, and those with EDS/HSD, it explores how the AT can support coordination, awareness, and symptom relief. Participants will gain tools to offer or practice safe, effective, and compassionate support through non-coercive movement, gentle awareness, and improved postural organization. The session includes discussion, experiential practice, and time for questions in a supportive, affirming environment.

May 9th, Friday 1:30-4:30 PM Workshop for Music Students at Central CT State University

May 18th, Sunday from 3–5pm. Join The Art of Releasing for a low-cost, 2-hour online workshop called Learn to Let Go: An Introduction to Releasing. In this workshop you will be introduced to Releasing, a simple yet powerful technique developed by Lester Levenson, who achieved self-realization using this process. In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn how to let go of emotional tension and limiting beliefs—gently and effectively—so they don’t build up inside. Releasing helps you open to peace, clarity, and greater freedom in every area of life. Suggested contribution is $35, but we offer a pay-what-you-can model to keep it accessible ($15-35 sliding scale). All are welcome, whether you’re brand new or already familiar with releasing. Release and Be Free is an ongoing weekly Releasing online workshop offered on Zoom every Saturday: This free, 60-minute releasing workshop first began in April 2020 and is open to all but recommended for anyone who has previously taken an introductory course.
